Something I used to struggle with was what exactly to wear on an airplane. I know, it might sound silly, but hear me out. Of course, whatever I wore had to be comfortable, so for a while, my go-to was yoga pants, a tank top, and a comfy sweater. I figured I couldn’t go wrong with that combination! But as soon as I got off the plane, I would find myself feeling underdressed and having to change before doing anything else. This sometimes worked out when we landed pretty late and went to bed shortly after, but for trips where I was arriving mid-day and wanted to go get food or explore the town, I always had the hassle of having to unpack a bit and change before doing so. Ugh!
I hope I’m not the only one with this struggle. If you’re like me, I hope this post can help you out. Today, I’m sharing the perfect outfit to wear on an airplane, no matter what the occasion.
OK, beauties… my go-to airplane outfit consists of the following: A cute romper, sandals, and a sweater or jacket. Of course, if it’s the middle of winter, you’ll have to swap out the romper for a jumpsuit, but you can keep the same basic outfit. I love this combination for a plane ride for a number of reasons. First, a romper is so easy to throw on and look amazing right off the bat. This cheetah print option is one of my favorites, but you could go with anything from a strapless ruffled romper to a T-shirt romper! The possibilities are really endless with this look. Here, I’ve accessorized with a belt for some extra flair.
Another reason I love rompers for an airplane outfit is because they are so. damn. comfortable! You don’t need to worry about the zippers and buttons digging in on your jeans, or about your tuck staying perfect on your shirt. Additionally, they look just as great and put-together off the plane. I never feel like I have to change when I arrive at my destination!
If you’re like me – a total freeze baby – then the sweater in this outfit combination is perfect for you. You can omit it if you would like, but I always get chilly on planes, so I prefer to have some kind of jacket or sweater on hand. Here, I’ve gone with a light, acid-wash bomber jacket. The mix of prints is pretty and street-style-esque, which I love!
Going on vacation is always really fun, and knowing what you’re wearing on the plane eliminates the possible stress of figuring it out! Let me know if you’ve tried this outfit for a plane ride, or if you have any other favorite outfits for this occasion.
