Utility Jacket + Cozy Sweater

Hey, beauties!

Do you ever have those days when you just can’t make a decision? You keep choosing every option until you’ve exhausted your choices, and the only thing left is to go back to your original choice. That is a pretty good description of what’s been going in with Minnesota weather lately. It has been so wishy washy! I don’t think Minnesota can decide if it wants it to be winter or spring yet. We’ve pretty much had one day of everything! We’ve had everything from warm and sunny to below freezing with tons of snow! Because of this crazy indecisiveness, planning my outfits each day has been a major struggle. I originally wanted to wear a cute chiffon T-shirt today, but with sudden chilly temps, I had to dress warmer. As such, I’ve adapted my outfit to something worthy of this colder April weather.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that layers are key to staying warm in Minnesota weather. They also help create many more outfit combinations and provide a lot of variety to your wardrobe! Today, I’ve kept the same dark wash jeans I originally planned on wearing, but swapped the T-shirt out for a cozy knit sweater. This sweater is my go-to for winter weather. I love pairing it with different pants, accessories, and jackets for a different look every time. It’s so versatile! Today, I’ve done a half tuck in the front for a cute stylish accent.

A muted green utility jacket layers over my beloved sweater as the perfect cold-weather accent piece. This utility jacket easily takes the spotlight with this look: How cute is the cut?! I feel that the stylish cut and badass length give me that street chic look that this sweater would otherwise lack.

Completing my look is my favorite pair of rain boots. These boots complement the street style aspect of this outfit, and give my look a little more casual feel.

How do you adapt your wardrobe for unexpected weather?
