This Fashion Challenge has been a lot of fun for me this year! I’m having a great time finding new and pretty looks each month with this feminine floral maxi skirt, and I’m learning a lot about finding versatility in my closet. Although I certainly love to shop, I think now I can be more content with what I already own.
This month, I’m sharing with you a look that completely fits my style aesthetic. You can’t not look at this outfit without thinking the words “pretty street style.” It just can’t happen!
If I’m totally honest, I haven’t worn this top in a while. As previously mentioned, I’m not the biggest tan of T-shirts… pit stains are not my friend, and short sleeves tend to make me look younger than I am. I already look about five or so years younger than I actually am, so wearing something that is going make that factor a whole lot worse does not pique my interest. However, there are some T-shirts that I can get into, and this is one of them. The slouchy feel and wide neckline make this tee a little more grown up, which I really love. Plus, the sassy phrase on the front matches my style aesthetic and makes me feel confident. What’s not to love here?
To pair this tee with my floral maxi skirt, I’ve tied it off in the front, so as to play up my figure a bit. Without the tie, the shirt would certainly drown my figure and look pretty baggy with the skirt. Additionally, this leaves room for the looser neckline to flow as well. Having a wider neckline and a flowier skirt, the cinch created by the tie really helps add some visual contrast.
To complete my street style-esque outfit, I’ve added my favorite ankle strap sandals. These give my look just a hint more femininity.
Summer is such a great time to try a new look! If you want to try out my outfit with the clothes in your wardrobe, just pair a patterned maxi skirt with any graphic tee. Tie it off in the front like I did, and you’ve got a similar outfit! This look can take you from day to night, an absolute summer must.
Tell me how you would style this tee with a maxi skirt, beauties!
